Plainview Elementary School

My name is Angela Demby. I have 33 years experience in education. I have served as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. I currently serve as counselor at Plainview Monday - Wednesday. I'm here to listen to your child and help them to reach their greatest potential. Outside of school, I enjoy going on walks and spending time with my family.

I provide weekly guidance classes on topics such as self-esteem, feelings, careers, interpersonal relationships, drug awareness, and health and safety. I also meet with students in small groups or individually if needed. Some of the topics I address with students include:
• Grief / Loss
• Worry or anxiety
• Sadness or depression
• Low self-esteem
• Difficulty regulating emotions
• Conflicts with friends or peers
• Bullying
• Behavioral concerns
• Difficulty being successful at school
• Academic or attendance concerns
• Test anxiety
• Difficulty being assertive and asking for help
• Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
